This has been another key day for the sales tax proposal in the Legislature. A House committee this morning passed the bill, HB 2377, on a narrow 8-7 vote. Read more about the vote here, and don't forget to contact your legislator about the bill today.
The state hospital association has decided to back an effort to get the sales tax increase on the ballot, but hasn't chosen whether to fund a referendum campaign.

David Goldstein over at Horse's Ass just weighed in this morning on the tax increases. He has polling numbers that show very soft support for increases to the sales tax and income tax. Still, he suggests that conventional wisdom could be wrong.
